Author’s Note: Since Samurai made its premiere, I’ve been having Power Rangers on the brain (along with Super Sentai due to the awesomeness that is Gokaiger.) The theme of both Shinkenger and Samurai is both the same. They sacrifice their former lives, they gain life values, they become, and they protect. And that’s how this ficlet come to mind. Just because the previous seasons didn’t mention it out right, didn’t mean that they didn’t go through the same concepts. Special thanks to my friend Vince for being my beta!

The dictionary definition of the word sacrifice is, noun, 1) giving up something valued for somebody or something greater; 2) offering to god. The meaning behind the word sacrifice to normal everyday people falls under the first category. For normal people, the thing that they sacrifice impacts them greatly, but that does not mean that it affects the world. However, there are selected individuals whose sacrifice means the world, even if the world’s people do realize it.

“I sacrifice my life. I sacrifice my dreams. I sacrifice my being,” many of these selected individual voices echoes in the wind. “For my friends, for my family, for the world, I sacrifice…”

However, the sacrifices that they gave are not in vain. To gain, verb, is to 1) acquire something; 2) become greater; 3) profit; 4) earn something. All of these definitions apply to those selected. Because of their sacrifice, they gain.

“I gain leadership. I gain friendship. I gain knowledge.” The voices continue echoing. “I gain growth. I gain courage. I gain lives. I gain…”

Am, verb, 1st person singular present indicative of be. Normal people will never know these exceptional individual identities. Regardless of dimension, regardless of galaxies, regardless of worlds, regardless of race, regardless of gender, regardless of everything, I am…

Summary: A quite Sunday afternoon was interrupted and two people soon find out that they need to add more people to the list.

Author’s Note: Oh my god! I’m writing! This popped into my mind after I finished watching the premiere of Power Rangers Samurai. Regardless of my initial perception of the episode, I will watch more before I pass judgment on whether or not I will continues watching. Oh and I purposely didn't write their names until the end.

The quietness of a Sunday afternoon was disturbed by a loud piecing sound emitting from the basement of the house. The door to the basement opened with a hissing sound, revealing two adults, one male and one female. The male sat himself in the chair in front of the monitors and typed in his password. The female situated herself in the neighboring chair. The alarmed stopped ringing and a window popped onto the monitor showing a group of monsters terrorizing a city and a lone red ranger fighting them.

“What the hell is that?” A hint of Australian accent was heard as she pointed to the monitor.

“That, according to the computer, is a Mooger,” he responded.

“A Mooger?” she raised her eyebrow. “Sounds like booger.”

“Billy and Hayley upgraded the system, not me. Evil doesn’t need to make sense to be evil.”

“True. Man, I was just getting use to all the peace and quiet we’ve been this past year.”

“Evil never truly sleeps. You and I both know this personally, kitty.”

“All too well.” She turned her attention back to the computer and pulled up an information window. “It says here that the Samurai Rangers fight against these Moogers foot soldiers and the Nighloks, whose master is called Master Xandred. Their ultimate goal is to flood the Sanzu River with human tears so that this Xandred can come into the living world and take out. Geezes, aren’t they original.” She turns to her husband, “So what color are you trying out for this time around Sir Multicolor? Blue? Yellow? Silver? Gold? You better stay away Pink!”

“Hey, it was either me or Dino Freak,” he defended playfully. “Looks like SamuraiRed is doing pretty good by himself anyway. And besides, we’re ninja, not Samurai.”

The two turns their eyes to the screen and watched as the lone Samurai ranger took down the group of Moogers down with his sword. The ranger then turned around and began walking away from the scene.

“Not bad. Though I wonder where his teammates are.”

“They’ll probably arrive later, since it says here that they only unite when the Nighloks attack. This is probably the first attack from the Nighloks in at least 20 years, which was slightly before our time.”

“Well, I better add at least five more people to the list for our annual reunion later this year. We’re holding this time right?"

“Yeah. Thank goodness we live a secluded area or it’ll be hard to fit all of us without renting a place.”

She got up and kissed her husband before heading towards the stairs. As she opened the door, she realized something, “Don’t you still have papers to finish grading Tommy?”

Tommy froze as his brain backtracked his weekend. “Crap. Thanks for reminding me Kat.” He quickly followed his wife.

“Honestly, I have no idea how you manage to get a Ph.D. with your memory.” Kat said.

“But you love me regardless.” He kissed her on the cheek.

“I love you regardless.”

Power Rangers Samurai Episode 1

Acting is ok (It's PR) I still don't like the Mega Ranger mode, but I did like how they handled the transformation into it. Kinda wished Kevin, Mia, and Emily had more lines. I do agree that it is not what a first episode should be. I do hope they have an "intro episode" later on. We need to know why they've gather (even if we know it already, they need to show it to those that don't.) There was hardly any background information for the audience to relate to the characters aside from Mike (this was his episode.)

I find it odd that in the OP, it says Created by Haim Saban and Toei, in which Saban's name font size is clearly bigger than Toei of at least 16:12 font. In a sense, is it really created by Saban, I mean Toei came up with the original concept, Saban just adapted it for Western audiences. (I'm not really arguing it, just point out. And the font size is sorta funny in some sense to me...). I do like that they created Yasuko Kobayashi in the beginning.

The way they incorporated Shinkenger footage and original footage is really nicely done. I'll have to say that. As for the OP, I like the footage with Bulk and Spike. And I can assume that they kept the Kuroko (assuming one was following Ji in the OP or was it Jayden? I'm watching an SD ver, so I can't tell)

Overall, I rate this ep as Fair/Average. However, I am going to watch a couple more episodes before judging whether to continue or not.

San Diego Comic Con Rant

After 4 hours of trying and trying, I got my passes to SDCC! Yes, I said "passes" cause stupid 4 day passes were sold out due to "server overload." This was the worst registration I've ever gone through. THE WORST. Server kept crashing and this is the third time registration was re-opened. The first time was a disaster, as was the second. I had no idea how the trial registration went, as I forgot about it it; however, since this time was disaster, I would assume that the staff thought the trial went ok and chose how they did it that time for this time.

Worst discussion on the staff part. I truly understand that SDCC is SUPER popular and such, but registration was utterly ridiculous and unprofessional. You had a better chance of getting into Capcom Fight Club events if you arrived late than registering for SDCC this morning. I thought smart people were on SDCC registration staff but apparently, I was wrong. Granted, at least this time people were able to get on to the SDCC site, but we kept hitting Ticketleap's "server overload" page and was told, via Twitter, to keep refreshing the page. I spent hour 4 trying to get tickets and when I finally was able to chose my tickets (4 day), BAM "server overload!" and "We are processing tickets right now, please hit "check out" again" or "Not enough tickets for the select package" (or something along those lines) And then the server couldn't decided whether a selection was sold out or not. So we were told to keep refreshing the page until we get to the next page. Talk about poor management.

So I manage to get a Friday and Sunday badge. I wasn't going to pay for 4 individual day passes, nor was I going to pay for 3 individual passes either (too freakin expensive). So I settle for 2 day individual passes. I originally was going to get Saturday and Sunday, but the server crashed and Saturday was sold out. GRRRR!!! So I'm going to check back every now and then to see if I could get a Saturday pass and then get a refund on one of my other passes.

I swear, I get it, SDCC is popular, but either move the con to a bigger convention (so more people can go) or get a company with a server than can handle the popularity of registering for SDCC!! RIDICULOUS I TELL YOU, RIDICULOUS!!! Not to mention that according to Comic Con's twitter, they weren't doing anything. All they were basically saying was "We know that registration is slow and that Ticketleap's server is being overloaded. Please try again." Ticketleap kept saying "Hit refresh until you get to the next page." Which is basically saying to me (and I'm pretty sure to a lot of other people) "We're gonna sit on our lazy asses and eat donuts all day instead of closing down registration to figure out how to work this out again. We give up on working on a new registration system. If you can't get tickets, it sucks to be you."

After going through registration today, I am so pre registering for SDCC 2012 at the con or volunteering next time.

Blackout at the mall today

I went to see TRON with my two friends at the mall today. It was raining since yesterday, but it wasn't raining cats and dogs so I thought it wouldn't be that bad. So, got to the theater just in time to see the last half of the previews. Movie was going and then, at the part where Sam hacks into the company building (at the beginning) and BLACK OUT! Movie came back on a bit later but with no sound. So we were watching about 20 minutes without sound. Then they said that they would start the movie over again. They got the sound working again. Then we got the part where Sam is with the 4 girls that were giving him a new wardobe. Black out again. Then they said that they were evacuting the theater and giving us free tickets.

So we walked out and saw that half the mall had suffered a stroke cause half the mall didn't have electricity while the other half did. Decided to go home afterwards. Turns out parts of the city around the mall had lost electricity as well.

I hate Research Reports!

Never ever gonna sign up for a class that has a research report again if I can help it! Anyway, I am almost done with stupid assignment. Just one more section to go through and then to do the Reference page and then read it once more to make sure everything sounds right and I'm done!

I can't wait until this school quarter is over and I can sleep in my comfortable bed and blanket and not worry about anything! Did I mention that I also have a midterm tomorrow as well as another paper and report due on Tuesday? The paper is easy, I'm just lazy to type it up. It's about my emotional reaction to two plays that I've seen this quarter. The report due is a Physics report which I will start on when I finish my emotion paper. As for the midterm, I'm repeating the class due to getting a C- so I'm not all that worried about it. I'm just worried about naming compounds the systematic way since I kinda suck at it.

And then it's Thanksgiving break! Mash potatoes and ham....mmmmmmm...yummy....! Then finally, it's the last week of school and the week following that is Finals week. I wished the CSU system had a dead weak to allow us to study like the UC systems does...

Anywho, I can't believe that I'm posting! XP

Around the corner

Thanksgiving is around the corner, which in turns means for us Quarterly college students that Finals is also around the corner. So here I am typing this post instead of finishing my 10 page Toxicolgy report to turn in next week for extra credit. Just kidding, I'm really multitasking. I'm halfway done with my paper so I can procastinate a little.

Anyway, I just saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 this morning. Apparently, Kranz (a middle school) thought it is appropriate to allow it's students to skip school to go on a field trip to see Harry Potter. While it's entertaining, I don't think Harry Potter has anything to do with a school curriculum. Anyway, it was a good movie. They chose a good spot to stop as well. I can't wait to see the final fight!

Capcom's Ustream of SDCC

First, I would like to say "Thank you to Capcom" for ustreaming their booth at this year's San Diego Comic Con. Even though I'm tired of seeing MvC3 fighting matches (but I would still like to play it even I suck), I had a blast watching the Ustream. Congrats to all the winners of the tournaments, winners of ustream contests (which unfortunately, I didn't win anything, but that's ok, I still had a blast), and those that went and got what they wanted (Niitsuma's autograph, Inafune's autograph, etc).

I would like to give a shout out to Joveth (aka jgonzo) and Shawn (aka Snow) for being our host, John D for his awesomeness, Vince, Emily, the girl that was with her (forgot your name, sorries), Megaran, Bear McCreary, Capcom Europe's guy (your name eludes me as well, sorry) and Stan Press (astrograming) for chilling with us and answering our questions etc, Seth, Marn, and Justin for commentating matches, and finally, all the producers/directors/writers (Niitsuma, Ono, Inafune, Ito, Takumi,Takeshita, Eshiro, and Kobayashi) for for taking their time to come to SDCC and do an interview with Capcom-Unity and signing that awesome board that some Unity member won or will win. Also, to Niitsuma-san, you were awesome. Your interview was great. You did like what? An interview each day? XD

There were a lot of memorable moments on the ustream, but my favorite was when Stan was taking requests for saying "XXXX" in his Russian accent. After semi-spamming my comment, Stan finally said, "Since ShadowNeko has been spamming this for a while...It's over 9000!!!" My nephew and I (I was up in San Jose for the time being) burst in laughter. It was just soooo funny. SNOW WHY DIDN'T YOU RECORD THAT HOUR?!! XD Anyway, that part made up for not winning anything. =D

A big thanks to the mods that kept in piece.

Oh and I saw a recently made friend (from E3) give a shout out to my nephew and his friend. Hi Gerald! Another good thing also came from the chat room. I met Mono626, who just happened to live in the same city I currently live in. =D

Anyway, I had blast. Thanks for setting up the Ustream Capcom! <3 And I hope you guys come to next year's San Diego Comic Con cause I'm planning to attend. See ya!

Anime Expo 2010 summary

My feet were so tired when I got home from AX on Friday and Saturday. To the right is Chun Li and Zangief cosplay. It was the best Chun Li I saw at AX.

On Friday, I went to the Bleach planel and got to see a mini concert done by RSP. They sung two Bleach ending songs and another one that I don't know.

Not a bad zoom function for my camera since I sat at the back of the room. Later on, I went to the May'n and Megumi Nakajima Live Concert. No video/pictures were allowed in the Nokia Theater. The duo sang songs from Macross Frontier to songs from their individual albums. Yoko Kanno was the surprise guest and she performed on the piano that alien song that Ranka sings (too lazy to look up) and a few other songs from Macross Frontier such as Diamond Crevasse. I spent the rest of the day exploring Exhibit Hall.
On Saturday, I met up with my friend, Vince and Brian, and we explored Exhibit Hall. We also got free tickets to the Sophia concert but we couldn't go cause Megumi's panel as at the same time and we needed tickets.

Here's a funny story:

Guy: How much would you charged if I asked you to sign my face?

Steve: Sign your face? I'll sign it for free.

Guy: Ok, let's do it!.

Steve: I'll have to say this is the first. Ok!

Me and Vince were laughing. The guy's girlfriend/wife/ girl friend recorded and pictured it while I and the girl that was with Steve took pics. Priceless. XD

When it came time for Megumi's first autograph session at 1:30, we came too late and they cut off the line. And it was a good thing we were late as well. Why? Well, the line for the 5:00pm signing had both Megumi and May'n, and you only need one ticket (either the one from May'n or Megumi's panel) to get in line. So we waited. To give you an idea of how long the line was, watch the video.

I also got autographs from the English Cast of Suzumiya Haruhi (3 out of 5 of them). Johnny was there! And I was like, "Why didn't I bring Tales of the Abyss for him to sign?" Only to forget that I brought a Guy Cecil pin on Friday that he could have sign.
But all in all, the convention was a success! I plan on going next year as well. I already got my 4 day ticket! It was only $45 =D

E3 2010 day 1 summary

E3 2010 has come and gone. I like to take this opportunity to gave a shout out to Capcom, who held a contest for E3 3 day badges, THANK YOU! I LOVE CAPCOM!

There, now that that's settle, Onward! Defosted Tuna Team! (XD, hint Star Ocean 3)

I had a couple of friends that attended as well. And we had a BLAST! Interesting story, at the Capcom booth, they decided to rig the MvC3 game to get a t-shirt, since the winner of 5 rounds gets MvC 3 shirt. And they did it. (Note, I wasn't involved.)

Day 1
The first booth I went to was none other than Capcom. One because I wanted to meet and thank them, and two I was at West Hall and the booth was stationed right at the entrance. I played some Dead Rising 2 and MvC 3. There was a live zombie from Dead Rising 2 there as well. Needless to say, I couldn't figure out how to switch characters in MvC3 (it was a fight stick), but that's ok. I'm not that good with fighting games anyway. I decided to skip Nintendo for the day since the line was super long for the 3DS and headed to the Sony booth. I played some Killzone 3, and let's just say I also suck at that as well. But I got a t-shirt for playing. And it was made by American Apparel too! =] I wondered around West Hall, got this huge bag from this Chinese booth and the Nyko bag as well. My friend Quoc and I went to play this guitar and drum game that escaped my mind right now and we got a shirt for that.

Afterward, we wondered into South Hall and wondered around playing the games. At Square Enix, I tried out Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and the Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light. Both were good. We also meet Tomonobu Itagaki (pic at right) at the SEGA Booth. =] The Mafia II line was short; however, it took forever. This one guy crashed the system and they resetted it and he played again. The guy that played the game before Quoc must have did something to the right analog stick (360) cause whe Quoc played, he couldn't control the camera. XD We went walking around and ended up at Disney's booth. Got a pic taken at Toy Story 3. Quoc played TRON while I watch this guy do a painting. We walked around a little bit more, played some more demos, and by then it was already 5ish pm. We got tired and went outside to sit down.

So I was having a bad day with drinks today.

This morning I place my jamba juice on top of my car as I was getting my keys out of my pocket, the drink fell down and some of it spilled on my jacket. Then when I get to school, I saw that the fall had made a dent in the cup and now it was leaking. So I had to go get another cup at the coffee shop in school.

Fast forward to 4pm. I brought a soda with the money in my pocket. I then realized that I left my wallet in my car, so I had to go down 2 flights of stairs, grab my wallet, and then head to class. When I got to class, I opened my soda, and all the foam went out. I was having a bad day with drinks. So, I cleaned up the mess and then class begun.

After class was over, I went home. I checked my email...and to my surprise, something amazing happened! What happened? I'm not gonna tell you yet (unless you're one of the people that I already told, don't tell anyone until I confirm it) but I will reveal what the surprise was in due time. All I can say was that I've never gone to this event before (there's a hint, an event that I've never ever been to) and that I wasn't expecting (meaning that I was absolutely sure that I wouldn't be chosen, and I even stated it in my submission, I guess I got super lucky that I made post # XXX or that they thought I should go, but whatever). I was totally shaking when I read email. I was like "OMFG!" I sent a reply right away.

Now, I GONNA STUDY MY ASS OFF to pass my class and go to side event.

Earthquake!

According to USGS website, a major earthquake occurred at 3:40:41 PM (PDT) on Sunday, April 4, 2010.
The magnitude 7.2 event occurred 26 km (16 miles) SW of Guadalupe Victoria, Baja California, Mexico.
The hypocentral depth is 10 km ( 6 miles).

I was at the dinner table study and some what procrastinating. Then I felt it. At first, I was like "Is the vase (on the table) moving?" After staying still and staring at the vase for a few seconds, I immediately knew it was an earthquake. Nothing major happened where I live (LA county)

Twilight Graphic Novel

I’m a some what Twi fan, not a crazy fan, but just a simple person that read the series and thought that Kristen needs more acting classes. I don’t like all the crazy hype and crazy stories that happened because of Twilight. Those people should get a life. Twilight is NOT perfect! It is the opposite of perfect, but heck, I think it was a somewhat decent read. There are other books that are WAY better than Twilight. (And I’ve read other books from classics like To Kill a Mockingbird to the Kenyon’s Dark Hunters series to Feehan’s Dark series to Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse series to Anthony’s Xanth series, etc).

I just finished reading the graphic novel (cover left) a few hours ago. I like this version more than the book. It was simple, straight to the point, and I didn’t have to listen to Bella’s over thinking. For those that are wondering, it runs from the beginning to the screen where Edward runs with Bella on his back in the meadow. On the artist’s note, really good artwork.

Yes, I’d rather see Harry Potter turned into a graphic novel. But I have to say this, I’d rather had Twilight than the High School Musical graphic novel.

To those that trash Kim, get a clue. It’s a job that food on the table. In this economy, you’d be grateful to have a job.

Oh my god! I found it on accident! When looking for Professor Layton UNDUB (was curious to see if there was one and there is, for the first two games) and I found Megaman X8 UNDUB!! Granted, I was looking for it under the name Rockman X8 in hoping that someone ripped the Japanese version, which most likely came with English and Japanese options as did Megaman X7 PS2 and Megaman X8 PC versions. Only found the PC rip and not the PS2 rip on torrent. Shoulda Googled it.

As for Death Note in general, I enjoyed reading the manga up until vol 8 (we all know what happens in vol 7/8. It got boring for me afterwards) I only read the rest of it just to finish the story. I wasn't into the anime much either. I have low expectations for this movie. Now, I'm not saying that the JPN ver is better, I found them boring, expect for L's movie...somewhat. I had low expectations for Chun Li and DBE. I wouldn't go to the theaters to watch it. I'd probably rent it when it comes out on DVD and read reviews/summary on how good/bad it really was.

Waaaah!!! It's been a long time since I updated! How's everyone doing?!! Did I mention that I got my first A in one of my biology classes at CSU LA? Well I did! YATTA! The professor was extremely lazy. I don't recommend Brianna (think that's her first name) Aliabadi. Says she'll post it but never does. I think the only reason that I got an A is that I kissed up to her. Nice person, terrible professor. I quote from a friend, "Can't teach to save her life."

What I've been doing?

Went to AX 2009, met the Power Rangers and Yashiro Nightow, creator of Trigun. Everyone was super cool. Pics are up at Facebook.

I got an Acer netbook. Need to see if I can upgrade the RAM to 2G at least. I have to take off the keyboard to do that. Gonna get my cuz to do it.

Takiing Quantitative Chemical Analysis and Organic Chemistry. Both are killers. The Prof for my Sociology 300 class got changed, so pissed, already brought the book, but what can you do when the other classes are full. Not a bad teacher, the one I have now, meh. I'm also taking Kung-fu and Tai Chi with Jack Huang. He's a stunt coordinator. Look him up if you want.

I got a new battery for my old iPod mini. I also brought the iPod touch 3rd generation 32 GB. Now I just gotta wait until the ppl can jailbreak it.

I brought the Yatterman Bluray set. Yatter! Yatter! Yatterman!

Just finish downloading and watching (might have skim through a few eps) Lois and Clark: the New Adventures of Superman.

I was reading a YGO! DM fanfic about Mana and Mahado until I got the urge to figure out what all the character shipping names were. (Mana x Mahado is Apprenticshipping) Turns out there are 545 terms for just DM in this list! Crazy huh?

I need to watch Kamen Rider W/Double, w/e you want to call the show/him. I also need to finish doing a few other things in the toku genre.

I was up in San Jose this past week. Good time. Brought stuff, played games, a meteor hitting some guy's car and that he was Superman and the JL came an rescued us cause the meteor had kryptonite when "Superman" attempted to hit it, there were other variances to the story but that what I remembered, went to San Fransisco's Japantown, had fun on the Wii with my nephews, found a new hatred for the one that calls himself my "father", helped my sister and her family move into a new house etc. And now it's back to school with crazy chemistry and genetics. I hope I survive this summer.

I want to watch YattERman!! But the group that was subbing it, the translator had to drop cause of real life. Add to the fact that looking for the RAWs on torrent sites are hard, it's either not there or no seeds. Yatterman is a brillant anime yet no one else picked it up. *cries* I guess I really have to learn how to use Winny and Share. I REALLY hope that when the live action movie comes out on DVD, someone will rip it and put it on the net. The same would go towards the new anime movie coming out in August this year.

Seriously. It's the end of the quarter and he's saying that I should have studied more cause I'm sitting at the table studying. HAS that fag not notice that for 10 weeks I didn't leave the god damn house except for school, gym, and market? Has that fag notice that I didn't go to the mall or my aunt's house or anywhere else?! God damn, I can't wait until he's dead. And he doesn't have the slightest decency to not watch pron when my mom and I are in the living room. (his laptop and desktop are in the living room.)

On the other hand, finals is on Monday, and I'm worried about my Chemistry (yet again. stupid chemistry class) Everything else is fine, A or B for sure. Wish me luck, nyah.

English is a hard language to learn

But that's not what this lady thinks. Apparently Asian languages is hard to learn according to this lady. So, one syllable words are hard to pronounce. The English language is one of the hardest language to learn because of all it's grammar rules, like change "y" to "i" and then add"-ed, -ing, etc." and it's pronouncation. It would seem to her that "Pavel Glukhovskiy" (<--he's Russian and one of my previous professor. I don't really know how to pronounce his name...) is easier to say then "Chun Li" or "Maaya Sakamoto." You see, with Chinese and Japanese, you pronounce each syllable as you see them. Ch as in change, un as in understand, Li as in liLy. Maa-ya Sa-ka-mo-to. Is that so hard?

Clearly this is about race. Telling someone to change from one thing to another because it's easier. Brown thinks that everyone should be "White" because she thinks that being white means that she's superior, that everyone should do as they are "suggested" by white people. While being American is white, truth be told as that's what being American is, according to Ronald Takaki, but that doesn't mean that the minority should give up to the majority. I'm Vietnamese American, I have a hard first name to pronounce BUT I have an American nickname which I tell everybody to call me, which is Jade. I have friend, her name is Jie and she answers to Jenny. Simple. So this stupid woman wants people to spend money to change their name. WHY DON'T SHE ASK HOW TO PRONOUCE *insert name*?! It'll only take a few second to find out how to say it and/or she may find out that they have an American nickname. Forgive me for saying this but..."she is one lazy white."

Dragonball Evolution is EPIC FAIL

This is like bad fanfiction of DB brought to life. And no, I did not pay to see this. I pirated it. Argh, maties! I couldn't really state this over at Yahoo! Movies.

If you're a true DB fan, this is not the movie for you. It does not follow the manga at ALL. No Krillin and Goku is in HIGH SCHOOL!! Absolutely way off track. Goku and Krillin are best friends, and they did not put Krillin in. Goku likes Chi Chi, we know that. We also all know that Goku didn't went to High School and that Chi Chi tricked him into marrying her. Now, in DBE, they act all lovely dovely in the end, which is the total opposite of Goku's character. The characters were so OOC (out of character). Yes, I know this is an adaption, but if you make them OOC and cut out major characters like Krillin, this movie is NOT an adaption, it is a total new movie that just copy and paste DB.

The acting seems like they're reading off of cue cards. Grant, I'll have to say that the acting here is better than Scorpion King 2, but at least that had a better story. Graphics were standard. The story is not like DB. Goku's not suppose to be in HS and not suppose to be trying to fit in, but considering they had the setting in the city instead of the country, this is what you get. Too much GokuxChi Chi, I love them, but it's not the real point. (Hell, I don't even remember them kissing in the manga/anime) If Japanese were to make it, it would have been 100x better. The only part that I actually liked in the movie was how they set up Roshi's place. Since Master Roshi lives in a house on an island, his house was on an island in the city. I thought that was funny. So, PLEASE I beg you all do not see this movie. It's not worth the money to see it. It's not worth the money to rent/buy it. If you really want to see it, borrow it from the library or a friend (who's crazy enough to spend money on this fail of a movie) when it comes out. GO READ THE ORIGINAL MANGA!! I personally feel sorry for Toriyama that he granted the license of his master piece to butchered into a live action movie that makes characters OOC and cuts out important characters.

This is the reason why never to let Americans make an adaption to Asian stories. *points to The Legend of Chun Li* Although I have not seen the movie, I DON'T plan on spending money to see it, as to reading the negative reviews and critics that the movie have received. I fear that Kristen Kreuk has been typed cast as Lana Lang. Not to mention that I don't think I can imagine her as our favorite Street Figther, Chun Li.

Although I'm not saying that all adaptions of Asian stories are bad because I haven't seen them all. But when growing up on Saban's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (yes, you heard me) and comparing it to the now own Disney Power Rangers, I have to say that if Disney can't pull off a good adaption (or not make it a carbon copy of Sentai) of a kids show (Power Rangers are based on Toei's Super Sentai) and Disney's been successful for copying stuff for who knows how long, it's not much anyone else can do. Well, maybe the Wang Brothers (the people behind Kamen Rider Dragon Knight) can, but I haven't seen KRDK, but a friend of mine says it's ok.

So, enough of my bashing of American directors making bad adaptions. (I'm Vietnamese American living in CA btw) I'm just saying it's best to leave movie/shows/anime adaption from manga/videogames (or vise versa) to the country of origin. I personally love the way they made Cutie Honey the Live and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon into a live action series. Although the effects weren't super high tech, the story and character development was GREAT. It isn't about the effects *stares at Power Ranger's over use of explosions* but the way it's carried out and how the characters grow.

I'm freaking out cause I have a Chemistry midterm tomorrow (Friday). And I barely finished reading chapter 6 2 hours ago and I'm reviewing the other chapters. This midterm is ch 4-6. Normally, I wouldn't have a problem, but Chem is alot of work. It needs to be worth more units! It's not worth 5 units, it's more. Lab Reports due every week and Quizzes every week too. Now, I can handle work like this, BUT when the professor can't teach shit and he can't teach shit, it's horrible!!! HE CAN'T TEACHER AT ALL! Whatever he says in Lec, it's not on the midterm. Lab and Rec teachers are different, so that's easy points since I chose good teachers. OMG OMG OMG!!!!!

So I'm finally writing again.

I SWEAR TO GOD, I WANT MY OLD MAN TO LEAVE ME ALONE!!!! "Do this, do that," shut the fuck up! He thinks he's "Mister I Know How To Do Everything Better Than You." I just got off the phone with AT&T Internet Tech support, after TWO HOURS of playing phone tag. And he's BITCHING that I didn't do anything. I fuckin did everything and told the tech support guy asked of me.

Tech guy: What's your problem?
Neko: My internet isn't working.
Tech guy: Can you tell me what modem you are using?
Neko: 2WIRE
Tech guy: Have you tried resetting the modem?
Neko: Yes.
Tech guy: Let's try it again.
Neko: Ok.

*resets modem*

Tech guy: Now how many lights do you see?
Neko: 4 lights, two flashing, the internet one and the wireless one.

Tech guy: I see that there is something wrong with the connection, but the server is
sending out signal. I can send a tech guy to check out your home on....Monday.
Neko: Monday? Is that the earliest?

Neko: I called earlier today and he said "Blah blah blah about the Internet..." (don't remember the actual conversation.)
Tech guy: I'm sorry about the inconvenice, but Monday is the earliest that we can send someone to check out your surroundings.

So, I finally got Internet last Monday. God, I hate playing phone tag. And I hate my old man. He can't even do ANYTHING even when the my mom ask for a Vietnamese person to talk to. *ugh*

My Mexico Cruise

I left for my Mexico Cruise on Sept 7, 2008 at 4:00pm Pacific Time. I boarded on the Carnival Pride at around noon time. We left Long Beach Port at 4:00pm. The ship had about 2100 cruisers on board with about 1000 staff members. 10 decks. Pretty big.

So from Sunday to Tuesday, we were at sea, traveling to our first port, Puerto Vallarta. What did I do during that time? Well, I watched TV, sleep, eat, played some video games, watched Kamen Rider Ryuki episodes 1-4, played bingo, explored the ship, etc. The worst day at sea was Tuesday. It was very rough, the ship was moving back and forth, up and down. I stayed in bed all day that day.

On Wednesday, we docked at Puerto Vallarta. My family (old man, mom, and I), along with my parent's friend family, which consists of the mother, father, and daughter (she's like 2 older than me if I remember), hired a private tour guide and went to see downtown, some waterfalls, and a tequilla factory. I tasted a sweet tequilla, and I have to say that I didn't like it. We were due back on the Pride at 5:00 pm.

On Thursday, we arrived at Mazatlan. Unfortunately, it was raining hard. We went outside only to come back inside the ship. I spent the whole day catching up on Shaman King manga.

Friday, we were at Cabo San Lucas. The weather was very nice. We just took a look around the town before we were due back on the ship by 3:30 pm.

Saturday was the day the ship headed back to Long Beach port. Nothing much to do but relax and realized that school starts the following Thursday.

Sunday, we were back at Long Beach California. Getting off the ship was sooooo long. Should have done the self assist, where we have to get out luggage out ourselves rather than let the staff take it. They started letting people off at around 8:00 am for those that didn't have a flight to catch. (those people left earlier) We didn't get off the ship until about noon time.

The food on the ship was ok. There was a buffet on Deck 9. Dinner was served on Decks 2 and 3, however, if you wanted to eat at the buffet, you can. The buffet was opened until 1:00 am in the morning. For dinner, we sat with a nice family from Palm Springs, it was a husband, wife, and their eldest son. They had a daughter too, but she was in her senior year of HS and didn't want to miss senior year. Maybe I'll see them again, it's a very very small world you know. But to tell you guys the truth, I am sick on non Asian food. When I got back on Sunday, Sept 14, I had a bowl of pho (Mmmmmmm, pho) and was full for the whole day.

All in all, it was fun cruise except for that Tuesday. I would totally go on another cruise if given the chance. And now I leave you guys with pictures from my cruise. I am not in most of them since I was taking some of the pictures or having fun. My old man took most of them. However, since I don't like him, I did not include pictures of him, unless he's in a family pic or a nice pic with my mom. My mom's in alot of the pics that I posted though. I have nothing really to report, other than I felt the earthquake a few days ago. *the earthquake that hit Chino Hills in SoCal* At first I thought it was one of my nephews walking/running upstairs hard, making the floor shake or it was a heavy truck passing by. But after a few seconds, I realized that it was an earthquake. No damage to my place since I live an hour away from the source (Chino Hills).

Since I brought so many Tales of games lately.

I've played/playing ToD, ToS, ToA, ToW: RM (PSP), and ToL. My favorite so far is ToA, working on my 3rd run through. My favorite characters are Guy and Asch. I just finished ToS a few weeks ago and now working on my second run through to get all the items, weapons, titles, costumes, etc. Favorite characters for ToS is Kratos and Sheena. ToL, I finished the main storyline and now working on the last character quest....that's been like 2/3 years now, I got bored of it since I couldn't beat a boss XD. Favorite character is Chloe. ToD, I just started. I just reserved ToV and ToS: KoR. I'm looking forward to play ToS: KoR when it's released States side this fall. I would like to play ToV, but I don't have a 360. Reason why I reserved it was that by the time I get a 360, I probably won't be able to find ToV. Trying to find ToS and ToA was hell, especially ToS since GC games are out of production.

I've watched the ToS animation, and I'm hoping they do another 4 episodes to finish it. Oh and I just found out that there's going to be a ToA TV series anime! Woot Woot!! I found out a month later, but heck, better late than never. It's gonna be airing this October and will have 26 episodes (according to ANN).

I just got a helluva lotta Tales of games recently. I got Tales of Symphonia a few weeks back. I just got Tales of the World PSP and Tales of Phantasia for GBA, both used. I just received my copy of NEW Tales of the Abyss that I ordered. So I'm home from AX. It was a busy day. There were good cosplay and bad cosplay. All in all, d a great time! And I got to meet Toshihiki Seki, the voice of Momotaros!! Sugoi! Unfortunately, videos are not allowed, only pictures and audio. I'll be posting some audio tomorrow. This is not the best audio since my camera kinda old, so DON'T complain! Tales of Symphonia GET!

I just recently brought Tales of Symphonia original ver. used. For some reasons, everyone who brought the game likes it sooooo much, I had a hard time finding a used version at the store. As for a new version, I haven't been able to find one, so I went with used. Plus I think they stopped making GC games now that Wii is out. I did a search on ebay and amazon. Amazon's price was $50 for New Players Choice, and ebay, I found a bunch of used copies, new copies that were on bid and by the time the bid ends, it would be $40+, and new copies that were $50+. Man I wish they ported the PS2 version over to the US. Maybe they'll sell new copies of ToS when the sequel comes out (at least in Japan, I don't know when the NA ver will be out).

Oh, did I mention that my mp3 player died on me yesterday? It lived for a year then it died yesterday, and now I have to get a new one. Can anyone yell "Ipod nano?" Yup, I'm planning to get an Ipod Nano 4 GB, preferably in green.

@bento: I'm gonna get Persona 3 (it sounds interesting) next time. Plus, I probably should play Onimushu (sp? too lazy to look up) and Devil May Cry 3, since I borrowed it from my cuz....

OK, I am super bored. I need a game to beat. So recommend me any games on PSX, PS2, GC, or Wii that'll keep me busy for a while. I'd prefer RPGs like Final Fanasy and the Tales of Series. I've already played FFVII,FFX,FFX-2, Tales of Legendia, Tales of the Abyss, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, MegaMan Legends, MegaMan Legends 2, MegaMan X-X8, Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess....Just recommend me something! *though I should play DMC3, since I borrowed from my cuz*

However, DO NOT RECOMMEND THINGS WITH GIANT SPIDERS! Or lots of lots of gore, though I might go and buy Resident Evil 4 Wii or PS2 edition (is there a PS2 edition?). Me no like horror, okies?

InuYasha is ENDING!!!

Finally, InuYasha is ending! I read some of the first few volumes, then skipped over to volume 50, chapter 489, and read until the latest chapter. Next week is the end of InuYasha, making it a total of 558 chapters. During the chapters that I read, it was mostly talk talk talk, boring boring boring, cliffhanger, cliffhanger, cliffhanger. Then it got good for some parts, and now it's ending. YAY! FINALLY! I can only read InuYasha for so much. The people who actually read from beginning to end, I don't know how they did it, but they did. They stuck with the manga for it's entire run.

Now to wait for the final chapter, ch 558. Hopefully, it'll be a good ending, maybe ionno...50 pages? Yeah that should be good enough for the finale.

A few days ago, I found out that Sailor Spork had subbed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Superman Legend. There are 2 episodes to this OVA. So, I've taken the liberty of uploading these 2 episodes onto Veoh. Koani and turtle fans, this is for you!

Den-O is my favorite. (Well, it was my first Kamen Rider so technically it would be my favorite right now. XD) It had such memorable characters that I cried in the end.

Series had a great cast IMO. Sato Takeru was a new actor (I believe) and he perfectly portrayed 7 characters, including his character, in the show. I don't know who/how someone can dish out 7 characters in the same show and continue to the end, but Takeru did it.

Ok, I finally know what this blog is going to be about. It is going to be about:

Foreign Disney Music and Toku shows and music.

Once a week, I’ll post a few Foreign Disney songs up for grab, they’ll be available until the link expires. Please don’t ask me for reuploads. Hopefully, I’ll be able to find a video clip of it too.

Tokusatsu, toku for short, means “special effects” in Japanese. 3 main genre of toku are kaiju monster movies (imagine Godzilla), superhero TV series, and mecha drama. I love toku. My favorite series is Kamen Rider Den-O so far. I’ll be posting full episodes on Veoh, as well as Direct Download links. Please don’t download from Veoh. The DD links I’m providing are HQ TV rips of the episode. Downloading from Veoh takes the same amount of space as the original file, so why not download the original file to begin with?

I love the D-Boys, so I’ll also be posting what I can find of them too.
